Corona restrictions in Sweden: "Successful vaccination campaign" as the key
Swedish society is in a better position. Now it is mainly unvaccinated people who get sick and have to be treated in hospital. On Tuesday, 57 patients were in an intensive care unit because of a Covid 19 infection. For comparison: The
DIVI
(German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine) recorded 1,360 people suffering from corona who are being treated in intensive care in Germany.
In Sweden, around 82 percent of the population over the age of 16 has now received one dose and 70 percent two doses. The director of the health department, Johan Carlson, said vaccinated people could, in principle, lead normal lives after September 29. Unvaccinated people are still at risk of serious illness. With the lifting of almost all corona restrictions, Sweden is following the example of Denmark and Great Britain. There, personal restrictions and test obligations are largely lifted.
