If they were unlucky, the road users had to wait almost an hour before they could drive up the Hohen Peißenberg or down the mountain. The waiting people sometimes had little understanding for that. The construction workers of the company "Strommer", which was commissioned with the renovation work, had to endure a lot of wild abuse (we reported).
But since the beginning of the summer holidays, there have been no long waiting times on the Bergstrasse. “The work has been stopped,” said Alois Stapf from the Weilheim State Building Authority. This decision was made at the start of the renovation work in March. This was to prevent too many frustrated tourists and day trippers.
