A great honor for Helmut Steber from Hohenkammer: the agricultural master has now been honored with the state medal for his services to organic farming.
Hohenkammer
- Bavaria's Agriculture Minister Michaela Kaniber recently honored 21 outstanding figures in organic farming who had been proposed by the State Association for Organic Farming in Bavaria.
Among them is agricultural master Helmut Steber from Gut Eichethof at Hohenkammer Castle, an organic farmer from the district.
Those to be honored received the medals and certificates or a Bavarian lion from the head of the Ministry of Agriculture, Hubert Bittlmayer, at a ceremony to kick off the organic adventure days 2021.
The organic adventure days are an important component in the state program “BioRegio Bayern 2030”, which is intended to promote organic farming in Bavaria.

Longstanding merits
Helmut Steber was honored for his many years of service to organic farming.
From 1999 to 2002 and 2006 he was a delegate in the Naturland eV association, and has been a member of the board of the producers' ring for natural farming since 2002 (he has been the second chairman since 2017).
Steber is also a member of the supervisory board of the Naturland-Bauern AG market company.
According to the ministry, the awards given at the start of the organic adventure days are “thanks and recognition for special pioneering achievements in professional training and further education, for special pioneering achievements in the processing and marketing of organic farming products and for many years of exemplary and voluntary commitment in the organic farming associations Bioland, Naturland, Demeter and Biokreis for the promotion of organic farming ”.
