In Ansbach, the police stopped an illegal transport of puppies.

But the Ansbach animal shelter is currently unable to accept any new animals.

Ansbach - Last Thursday (September 2nd) the Ansbach traffic police stopped smuggling puppies on the A6.

Because there is currently no free space at the Ansbach animal shelter, a puppy from the illegal dog transport is now facing an uncertain future.

The young dog is a Maltese who, according to

inFranken.de, is

only about three or four weeks old and "was taken away from his mom much too early".

According to the portal, the veterinarian Dr.

Ralf Zechmeister from the Ansbacher Veterinary Office.

Ansbach: That happens to the Maltese puppy

Because the capacities of the Ansbach animal shelter are currently completely exhausted, the Maltese puppy is currently receiving veterinary treatment.

"He is still doing very well," confirms Dr.

Zechmeister.

In a week, however, it could “look completely different”.

Due to the early separation from the mother, the young puppy has to be bottle-fed for about another 14 days.

The little puppy was discovered by a police patrol in a minibus at the Herrieden junction on the A6 on Thursday afternoon.

In the trunk of the car, the officers came across a transport box in which the dog was.

A veterinarian called in then determined the age of the dog, which had “completely defecated” the transport box during the journey.

The food he was given was completely unsuitable for his age.

In addition, he did not get any water to drink, as reported by the Ansbach traffic police.
