During a protest against the IAA in Munich, banners were placed on a motorway bridge.
But the statements of activists and police officers partly differ.
District activists also placed their banners on a bridge on the A8 in the district during a protest against the International Motor Show (IAA) on Tuesday at around 8 a.m.
The message: “Car lobby in chains - save the climate.” The police then temporarily blocked the motorway and “removed the people”, as the Munich police press office says.
The fire brigade was also involved in the action south of the A 8 Hofoldinger Forst driveway.
IAA protest in the district of Munich: A8 blocked - fire brigade in action
Activists and the police are very divided on who stayed on the ground during the action and who took off.
"It is simply dangerous for the traffic and the activists when people abseil themselves from a motorway bridge over traffic," said the press office of the Munich police.

In the press release of the protest action, however, it is emphasized that only two well-secured people fasten the banner and at no point are they over the traveled lanes of the motorway - no question of abseiling or people on the roadway.
“In order to avoid dangers, the entire action takes place above the clearance profile of the autobahn,” the activists continued.
After the IAA protest in the Munich area: Heated discussions on social media
Meanwhile, there is heated discussion on social media about the authority to interpret the numerous actions.
While supporters of the protests emphasize how much the automotive industry stands in the way of environmentally friendly transport of the future and how important it is to pay attention to this, automotive representatives insist that the industry itself ensures a green change in transport with electric cars and other innovations.
