Spain will offer an additional dose of anti-Covid vaccine to certain immunocompromised people but for the moment rules out the generalization of such a measure, the health authorities announced on Tuesday (September 7th).

Are concerned "
certain people in a situation of serious immunosuppression, for whom there is a high risk of immune response unsuitable to the conventional dose of vaccine
", explains the Ministry of Health.
These are particularly transplanted people or people receiving treatment against multiple sclerosis, anti-CD20 which seem to cancel the protection of vaccines against Covid-19.
However, the country does not currently plan to offer an additional dose to the majority of people.

We do not currently have solid data to recommend the administration of a booster dose or booster for the general population
," said the press release.
These vaccines, “
preferably of the messenger RNA type
”, will be administered at least 28 days after the last injection or six months after the end of treatment with anti-CD20, it is further specified. With 77.7% of its population vaccinated, Spain is one of the champions of vaccination in Europe.
