The Agricultural Subcommittee in Aleppo Governorate has set the nineteenth of this month as a date for receiving the cotton crop from farmers and marketing it to the Tishreen gin.

The Director of the Cotton Office, Engineer Walid Razzouk, told SANA reporter that the areas planted during the cotton season amounted to 29 thousand hectares at the country level, of which 374 hectares are in Aleppo Governorate, and it is expected to receive 88 thousand tons of cotton from farmers, including 16 thousand tons from Aleppo Governorate.

In turn, the Director General of Cotton Ginning and Marketing Corporation, Dr. Zaher Attal, explained that the necessary measures were taken to receive the crop in the Tishreen gin, which extends over an area of ​​167 hectares, and to absorb the quantities received from the governorate and transferred from the eastern governorates.

On the other hand, the Higher Agricultural Committee for the Cotton Festival has set the tenth of next October as the date for holding the Cotton Festival, which this year will be limited to honoring the winning farmers from the governorates producing the crop.
