Six years after the strange death of Lamara Bell, 25, and her partner John Yuill, 28, Justice found a culprit: the Scottish Police.

The Edinburgh Court found that British youth, who died after a traffic accident in July 2015,

suffered the consequences of serious logistical failures by the national authorities.

Apparently, the couple's car drifted off a highway and fell into an unseen embankment near a junction.

There, on July 5, 2015, there were calls to the local police to alert of the accident, but the authorities were unable to respond and were unable to dispatch a rescue team.

Lamara Bell and John Yuill, the young men who died in 2015.

Thus, between calls and complaints, it took them three days to reach the scene of the accident.

On July 8, the 25-year-old was rescued from the vehicle still alive, after spending 72 hours inside the crashed car.

But she passed away while being treated at the local hospital.

His partner is believed to have died in shock.

The police team now acknowledged in a trial that it failed to register the alert call and that, therefore, both citizens remained "without help" for three days inside the vehicle with which they had an accident.

"It has taken a long time to get this conviction, but it is a great relief that the Scottish Police have finally admitted to being guilty of Lamara's death," Diane Bell, the mother of the deceased, celebrated in audience.

Accident and consequences

On July 5, 2015, Lamara Bell and John Yuill were in a terrible car accident after deviating from their route and colliding with a ravine on a motorway near Stirling, a city in central Scotland.

According to the medical report, Yuill died immediately as a result of the serious impact.

Bell, on the other hand, managed to call the national emergency line to report his accident and ask for help.

However, as he was able to verify justice,

no one complied with his request.

Now, six years after the families of the fatalities brought legal action for the alleged negligence of the authorities, the Edinburgh Court found the police responsible for what happened.

With respect to the death of Lamara Bell,

the court established that the lack of attention from the Police "materially contributed" to her death

.

In that sense, the state entity received a fine of 100,000 pounds sterling

Sir Stephen House, then Chief of the Scottish National Police, resigned in late 2015 following the scandal over the case.
