Arrest of drug traffickers in Damascus and its countryside and confiscation of 12 kilograms of hashish

The Ministry of Interior announced that the Anti-Narcotics Branch in Damascus arrested drug traffickers and confiscated 12 kilograms of hashish and 230 Captagon pills.

The Ministry of Interior indicated in a statement that SANA received a copy of today that information was received by the Anti-Narcotics Branch in Damascus about the presence of people who abuse and promote narcotic substances in Damascus governorate and its countryside.

In its statement, the ministry pointed out that through vigorous follow-up and continuous monitoring, the Anti-Narcotics Branch in Damascus arrested a person in Maaraba, who was riding in a Ford Focus, and seized a large quantity of hashish prepared for sale and promotion. The vehicle was confiscated and the said vehicle was seized.

The Anti-Narcotics Branch also arrested another person, and by searching his car, a quantity of hashish, heroin, crystals, and an electronic scale were found. By interrogating him, it was found that another person had put narcotics for him in the car, in coordination with his girlfriend, with the intention of harming him and getting rid of him due to differences between them and his reasoning. Several people were arrested for using and promoting narcotic substances in the areas of Harasta, Zamalka and Rukn al-Din, and quantities of those substances were confiscated.

The amount of confiscated narcotic substances amounted to 12 kilograms of narcotic hashish and 230 Captagon pills, and investigations are continuing with the arrested to reveal all those involved in the case to take the necessary measures against them.
