Swedish DJ Avicii - such was the stage name of Tim Bergling - had an
overwhelming and successful career with
electronic music.
In just
28 years of life
, the young man born in
Stockholm
gave concerts in different parts of the world and worked with the most famous singers.
At the same time, he accumulated
millions of views of his creations on different online platforms
.
Tim Bergling, the Swedish DJ Avicii, took his own life three years ago.
Some of his hits were:
"Wake me up", "Waiting for love", "Levels" and "The Nights".
Another of his milestones: he participated in the closing ceremony of the 2014 World Cup and in
the wedding celebration of Prince Carl Philip of Sweden
.
Its beginnings
The
British DJ Pete Tong
discovered
Avicii
over ten years ago when the young Swede took part in a talent contest.
"He clearly had an impressive ability to build melodies and showed great maturity in the way he put the tracks together," Tong noted in 2014 in an interview with the Evening Standard.
From that contest, his popularity exploded.
In 2011, the song “Levels” was certified platinum for record sales in at least 10 countries.
Tim Bergling, the Swedish DJ Avicii, was found dead in a hotel room.
In that furor, the BBC's music critics spoke of a magic formula: escapist house productions, guest soloists and the desired sound.
The reluctant relationship with money
With the success came the outrageous profits.
After his death, the Celebritynetworth medium estimated that
his fortune could be around 70 million dollars
.
This included the cachet for presentations and purchased properties.
Avicii
, however, never lost the notion of reality and social consciousness.
"When I started to make money I discovered that I really did not need it. The most sensible thing is to share excess profits. The most humane and the most obvious thing is to give it to people in need," he said in an interview.
The shadows
However, apparently, he could not enjoy his excellent moment and his accolades.
In January 2012, he spent nearly eleven days hospitalized for acute pancreatitis, as a result of excess alcohol
.
"It's impossible to keep touring and drinking at the same time because you collapse. Especially when you're playing 320 shows a year," he said at the time.
A year later he returned to the hospital.
This time they indicated the removal of the gallbladder.
But he refused and continued touring.
Only a year later he decided to undergo this intervention, which did not resist too much complication.
Due to these health problems and the deep dissatisfaction that it brought,
in 2016 he decided to leave the tours behind
.
The farewell was a concert in full season in Ibiza.
Google dedicated his doodle to Avicii, the day he would have turned 32.
"The scene was not for me. It was not the shows or the music. It was always very hard for me. I think I was charged with a lot of negative energy," was his statement.
His wish was to regain his private life and focus on himself.
The tragic end
Avicii committed suicide on
His days seemed at last to be happy and full.
He shared photos of his travels around the world and with his fans on the networks.
Precisely, on April 20, 2018, he published an image with some followers in a hotel in Oman.
Three days after the publication, the lifeless body of the great DJ was found there, after committing suicide at the age of 28.
