Elements of the Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Hama confiscated 303 bags of sugar with a total quantity of 65 parcels and 75 cans of vegetable oil, due to the violations of their owners over charging excessive prices and tampering with invoices granted to merchants.
The Director of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Riyad Zayoud, said in a statement to SANA reporter today that the confiscated materials were handed over to the branch of the Syrian Trade Corporation, stressing that the directorate’s personnel and patrols are intensifying control over the markets, especially during this period when some violating traders deliberately sell foodstuffs and commodities at an excessive price or monopolize them. Or not to announce their prices or offer products without having regular invoices for them or tampering with them.
