This year, the jury is giving pride of place to established authors as well as to major publishing houses: there are four novelists published by Gallimard, two by Grasset and two published by Flammarion. Among the writers in the running, many are already present on several lists. Christine Angot and Mohamed Mbougar Sarr are the only two novelists to appear both in the first selection of the Goncourt Prize and that of the Medici Prize. Anne Berest, Clara Dupont-Monod, Elsa Fottorino, François Noudelmann and Abel Quentin, are competing for the Goncourt prize. Nina Bouraoui, she is in the race for the Medici Prize.

It should be noted that the jurors retained the novel by Jean-Baptiste Del Amo, which recently received the prize for the novel Fnac.

Finally, it should be noted that among the selected authors are two first novelists published by Gallimard: Etienne Kern and François Noudelmann.

Among the foreigners, some authors are already part of the first selection of the Medici Prize, this is the case of: Jan Carson, Lucy Fricke, Robert Jones Jr., Leonardo Padura and Natasha Trethewey.

Note that the jury retained the novel by Philipp Weiss, a sum of 1088 pages.

The authors competing for the Femina des lycéens are: Anne Berest, Nina Bouraoui, Jean-Baptiste Del Amo, Ananda Devi, Clara Dupont-Monod, Vincent Hein, Etienne Kern, François Noudelmann, Thomas B. Reverdy and Fanny Taillandier.
