The Paris Court of Appeal on Wednesday released the polemicist Eric Zemmour, who was prosecuted for insult and incitement to hatred after a violent diatribe against Islam and immigration pronounced in 2019 at a political rally in Paris.

At first instance, the 63-year-old columnist, who some believe intends to run for the 2022 presidential election, was sentenced for these comments to a fine of 10,000 euros.
