The district office of Erding and the city of Dorfen are coordinating aid for those affected by the flood disaster last week.

A first step is to report damage.

A donation account has also been set up.

Erding / Dorfen

- First the heavy rain came, then the cellars ran in the settlement on Seebach in Oberdorfen. The disaster occurred in the Erding district on Monday. Since then, the settlement has been in despair. 24 families had to be evacuated. Some of them are temporarily living in hotels because of the damage to their houses. Most of those affected will get little from their insurance, they are demanding state aid. The government of Upper Bavaria is now examining possible compensation payments.

The Erding District Office has become active in this matter. In order to support those affected, the authority has contacted the government of Upper Bavaria in the past few days to sound out the possibilities for financial compensation. "So that it runs in a coordinated and uniform way and not every citizen has to ask individually, I have decided that we will take over as the district office," explains District Administrator Martin Bayerstorfer in a press release.

The government of Upper Bavaria has now informed in an initial response that an estimate of the damage should first be determined in order to examine a possible reimbursement.

All affected citizens are therefore asked to forward the estimated damage they have suffered to their respective municipality, which will report the figures to the district office.

Citizens of the most affected city of Dorfen can contact the following e-mail address: katastrophenschutz@dorfen.de.

The Erding District Office has also set up a donation account for those affected.

Up to an amount of 300 euros, the transfer receipt is used as a proof of donation to the tax office; for larger amounts, a proof of donation is issued.

In addition, the giveaway market on the District Office's homepage was expanded to include two categories: “Offer help” and “Search for help”.

Anyone who has specific offers of help for those affected can register there, as well as anyone who has a specific request for help.

The direct link to the gift market is: www.landkreis-erding.de/abfallwirtschaft/verschenk-markt.

The donation account:

Account holder: Landkreis Erding, keyword: Flood Aid 2021, IBAN: DE28 7005 1995 0810 0024 02, at the Kreis- und Stadtsparkasse Erding-Dorfen.
