Call center fraud has occurred in the districts of Dachau and Fürstenfeldbruck.
The police warn of the scammers' scam.
Dachau
- 13 cases of so-called call center fraud became known to the police on Tuesday, especially in the Fürstenfeldbruck area, but also in Dachau.
In four cases it was not just one attempt, as the police headquarters in Upper Bavaria North announced yesterday.
In this context, the criminal police are again warning of the various scams used by the perpetrators.
In two cases injured parties fell for false profit promises made by the callers.
A 72-year-old woman from Dachau transferred 8,400 euros, a 22-year-old from Fürstenfeldbruck was brought in for 900 euros.
The method is always the same: Before a prize is handed over, the victims are asked to provide something in return, for example to pay “fees”, call chargeable telephone numbers or take part in events at which inferior goods are offered at inflated prices.
The simulated scenarios are constantly being changed by the crooks.
Other scams used by the fraudsters were the “false Microsoft employee”, with whom a 78-year-old from Kaufering suffered 1400 euros in damage, as well as a “shock call” after which a 63-year-old from Fürstenfeldbrucker transferred 25,000 euros.
