The branch of the Public Corporation for Road Transport in Homs started the implementation of rehabilitation and maintenance works for the Homs-Sheen-Mashta Al-Helou road.

In a statement to SANA reporter, the director of the branch, Mahmoud Al-Ali, stressed the importance of the road, as it links Homs with the governorates of Tartous and Hama through the Mashta Al-Helou and Masyaf regions, in addition to its service and economic importance to the people of villages and towns on both sides of the road, which numbered about 50 clusters, pointing to the maintenance projects implemented by the branch during the current year, including Hama road, Talbiseh bridge, western Homs detour, and directly to the branch, as well as maintenance works for the Salamiyah-Othmani-Al-Furqalus road.

In turn, Eng. Subaie Rizk, the project supervisor, pointed out that after converting the Homs-Sheen-Mashta Al-Helou road from a service road to a central one, the branch of the Public Corporation for Road Transport conducted technical inspections on it to prepare the estimated lists of maintenance works, which were contracted to be implemented with the General Company for Roads.

Mohammed Techouri of the General Company for Roads and Bridges stated that maintenance work is carried out using the company's modern mechanisms due to the ruggedness and height of the area, and work is carried out according to the required specifications and conditions, pointing out that the work is expected to be completed according to the contractual period of 150 days.
