Police opened tonight (Thursday) an investigation into the suspicion of the murder of a man killed last night in a car explosion in the Druze village of Sajur near Karmiel in the north of the country.
At 22:47, Magen David Adom's 101 hotline received a report of a vehicle on fire near the entrance to the village.
Many firefighters arrived at the scene and extinguished the flames.
Upon completion of the firefighting operations, a man with no signs of life was discovered at the scene.
MDA medics and paramedics determined his death on the spot.
Due to the nature of his injury, they did not determine the sex and age of the victim.
The body was sent for identification at the Institute of Forensic Medicine.
Many police forces arrived at the scene of the vehicle explosion, began collecting findings and also began investigating the incident.
Pavel Levin, a senior medic at MDA, said: "When we arrived at the scene, we joined the emergency forces who put out the vehicle that caught fire. After the firefighting operations and when it was possible to approach the scene, we identified inside the vehicle a victim from unconsciousness with no signs of life and with severe injuries to all parts of his body. We have no choice but to determine his death. "
