After 13 years: James Spears, the father of singer Britney Spears, filed an official application tonight (Tuesday through Wednesday) in court to revoke the guardianship over his daughter.
"Recent events have cast doubt on whether circumstances have changed to such an extent that there is no longer any ground for the existence of guardianship," the petition said.
"As Spears has said over and over again, all he wants is what is good for his daughter," he stressed.
In a petition for revocation of guardianship, the father's name reads: "If Britney Spears wants to end guardianship and believes she can handle her life, her father believes she should get the chance."
"Ms. Spears told the court she wants to control her life. She wants to be able to make decisions about her medical care, decide when, where and how often to receive treatment," the petition said.
"She wants to control the money she has earned over the course of her career. She wants to be able to get married and have a baby, if she chooses to do so. She wants to live her life the way she chooses."

The fight between Britney Spears and her father has been going on for about 13 years.
As you may recall, about a month and a half ago, the Los Angeles Supreme Court denied Spears' request to be released from her father's custody.
A week earlier, the famous pop singer had appeared in court with the aim of presenting her remarks directly in court.
"I was exploited through my father's custody," she argued about the situation in which her father is responsible - both on a personal and financial level.
