The Gardenia Coral evening, led by musician Ghada Harb, which she presented on the third day of the 2021 Syria Choirs Forum, in its second edition, celebrated the Syrian melodies and Sufi words of the poets of Arab Sufism.

The evening, which was hosted by the Drama Theater, organized by the General Authority of Dar al-Assad within the forum, with the participation of choirs and choirs from Damascus and the governorates, hosted on its third day the Gardenia Choir and the Good Shepherd Choir “Lattakia” led by Elias Semaan and the Septarian Choir of Aleppo led by Margaret Khajadrian Pendak.

With a content that was characterized by mystical love, the Gardenia choir singers presented a group of songs, including “I want love to be hidden” by composer Kinan Adnawi, “My comfort in my khalouti” by Ghada Harb, and “Laylat al-Qadr and the people’s community” by Safana Bakla.

The Gardenia singers work together to promote the values ​​of peace and tolerance within society through music. The choir has many local participations, programs and musical projects, including the “Heritage Bride’s Wedding” program and album, which includes a group of songs related to wedding traditions in Syria, and the “Women’s Love of God” program and album, with the support of the Fund. He also participated in international festivals and won several prizes, and is currently implementing, in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program, the Syria Harmony Project, which works to employ music and collective singing in promoting the values ​​of peace and social cohesion.

Songs from the heritage of Lattakia Governorate presented by the choir of the Good Shepherd, which was established in the Greek Orthodox Diocese of Latakia in 1996, where it presented “Ya Mahalla Al-Fasha” and “Ali Rawd Al-Habib Fatna.” The choir also performed two solovege symphonic pieces and the sound of music.

The Good Shepherd Choir includes 5 choirs according to age groups, in addition to embracing groups according to various musical styles, the oriental and heritage choir and the polyphonic choir.

The Spentarian Choir of Aleppo, which was established more than 65 years ago, presented evenings in the provinces and at the Ya Watani Festival 2012 in Armenia. Its program was characterized by a diversity of folklore and contemporary songs, including for you, my love, my popular medley, the song of the birds of Raho by the composer Khajador Avdisyan and Armenia by the composer Konstantin Bedrosian and the Rahbani brothers. The choir performed a song in a coffee Aalmfrq and good morning to Osama Rahbani.

During the six decades, the choir contributed to the dissemination and revival of the arts through collective singing in its various styles, becoming the core of choral activity in Aleppo.

Tomorrow, the 2021 Syria Choirs Forum will conclude with a choral evening presented by the Saint Ephrem the Syriac Patriarchal Choir. The participating choirs during the past few days will present a choral evening at eight o’clock on the opera stage.
