The next day in Brazil

If Bolsonaro threatens the Supreme Court in the middle of Paulista Avenue and the 'impeachment' does not come out of the drawer, it is that he has won on September 7 and democracy has ended in the largest country in Latin America

The meaning of the coup demonstration by Jair Bolsonaro on September 7 will be given in the coming days. Bolsonaro used the machinery of the State to threaten and declared, in the middle of Avenida Paulista, in São Paulo, that he will not abide by the decisions of the Supreme Federal Court. If after all this nothing happens to him, the coup is advancing. If Bolsonaro is not held criminally responsible and the impeachment does not come out of the drawer of the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira, he wins. That is the only game Bolsonaro knows how to play. This is Bolsonaro's story: cross the lines and see what happens. He began planning terrorist attacks while he was still in the military and continued to defy the law and count on impunity. So far it has gone well. So well that he has become President of the Republic.Bolsonaro is a creature produced by the omission and / or collusion of the institutions: the Judiciary and Parliament.

Avenida Paulista was full.

Are they a minority?

Yes. Are they a bubble?

Yes. Who paid them?

We have to find out.

But from there to say that it was a fiasco, as some are saying, be careful.

If Bolsonaro did all this and remains unpunished, the coup has advanced.

The near future of Brazil will not dictate it on September 7, as Bolsonaro had threatened.

They will dictate the following days.

This is the time to put a limit on Bolsonaro. Finally, late, almost 600,000 deaths from covid-19 later, more than 14 million unemployed later, a growing number of children and adults who go hungry afterwards and rampant inflation afterwards. Either we do it now or we will have much, much worse days.

The days will be much worse because Bolsonaro is not able to really govern and face the problems of the country. And he knows it. He has no competence or vocation for the job. Nor does he let anyone govern or work, because he keeps the country at the service of his hatred. Instead of talking about how to deal with hunger, misery, inflation that takes food off the table, the expansion of vaccination, the water crisis and the destruction of the Amazon, we are discussing whether or not Bolsonaro will manage to invade the Supreme . The country has to stop being a hostage.

What he knows how to do, and he does it very well, and he did it very well once again this September 7, is to threaten, divide and corrupt. And he knows that manipulating hatred and resentment is his talent and his asset. If it is not stopped by the Constitution that, once again, Bolsonaro broke from the rostrum on Independence Day, Brazil will arrive in 2022 destroyed and with a part of the population that will not believe in the electoral process. And - it must be said - how can we defend democracy if it is not capable of preventing a president from using his power to say that he will not comply with the decisions of Justice? What good is democracy if, at a crucial moment like this, it cannot stand up to a president who announces a coup on the country's main avenue?

The days will be much worse because, if Bolsonaro confirms that he may disrespect the Supreme Federal Court and the next day he calmly re-enters the headquarters of the Executive to continue his game of hate on social networks, then what else can he do ? The Constitution has instruments to stop the coup presidents and to stop the presidents who threaten the part of the population that opposes it. If the right of Brazilians to be protected by the institutions that have a duty to enforce the Constitution is not respected, then there is no democracy.

The right wing and the parties and groups that present themselves as the center, parties and groups that have a lot of responsibility in the current situation in the country and in Bolsonaro's rise to power, have called a demonstration against Bolsonaro for the next day 12. After Everything they have done since they emerged on the Brazilian political horizon, especially the Free Brazil Movement digital militia, the least they can do is the maximum possible to remove Bolsonaro. They owe it to the population. I think the left should occupy that space, join the demonstration, even if it has been called by the right, and put up its flags. Now is the time to unite with a single objective: to impeach Bolsonaro and hold him criminally responsible for the coup. Put your flag or your banner and go.We cannot keep waking up and see that Bolsonaro is still there. We have a genocide in power who uses the machinery of the State to destroy the Constitution. You have to get it out using democracy. Bolsonaro has tightened the rope again. If it is not stopped, democracy will be over.
