(CNN) -
The process against twenty men - some of them will be tried in absentia - accused of a jihadist attack that occurred in 2015 has begun in Paris.
Almost 6 years have passed since the terrorist attacks of November 13, 2015 in Paris, the largest ever perpetrated on French soil, and this Wednesday begins the largest trial ever held in France, in which 300 victims will testify over nine months.
Suspect in Paris attacks set to participate in Brussels bombings, authorities say
The trial takes place in a room specially built for it.
Of the 20 men charged with planning, aiding and carrying out the bombings, only 14 will sit in the dock, including Salah Abdeslam, one of the only known survivors among those charged with being directly involved in Paris that night.
So far he has been silent, and both victims and victims' attorneys say they don't expect much from the trial other than the opportunity to put the traumatic memories so vividly etched in their minds on the record.
