A bizarre robbery occurred in Wong Tai Sin.
At about 2 am, a man reportedly met a friend and went to the Rainbow Road Recreation Ground to carry out the settlement process for the earlier online transaction.
However, when the male victim arrived at the scene, he found that in addition to the friend he was dating, several other men were "waiting" at the scene.
The group of men claimed that the victim owed them the amount of "wave cable" earlier, and immediately robbed them of about 6,500 Hong Kong dollars, including 4,500 dollars for the use of the phone program "WeChat Pay".
The male victim's finger was injured and fractured during the robbery; all the people involved in the case fled after succeeding.
The male victim then fled to the opposite road to the Tai Shing Street market to report the case. The police rushed to the scene to intercept the case. In the end, five suspected men were found on the footbridge off the market. They were arrested after preliminary understanding of the situation.
The police are investigating the ins and outs of the incident and to see if anyone else is involved in the case.
