The BRICS countries expressed their strong condemnation of all forms and manifestations of terrorism, stressing their refusal to adopt double standards in combating it.
The TASS news agency reported that the countries of the group, which includes "China, Russia, Brazil, India and South Africa", affirmed in the final statement of its 13th summit in New Delhi today, "the condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations whenever, wherever and by whomsoever committed, and the complete rejection of the adoption of double standards and positions in the fight against terrorism." and extremism.”
The statement stressed the need for the entire international community to adopt a comprehensive and balanced approach to effectively curb terrorist activities that pose a serious threat, especially in light of the Corona pandemic, pointing out in this context the need to “thwart the attempts of terrorist organizations to use the territory of Afghanistan as a haven for terrorism and to carry out attacks against other countries.”
The statement also called for combating the drug trade inside Afghanistan and the need to address the humanitarian situation and support human rights in this country, including the rights of women, children and minorities.
In their statement, the BRICS countries expressed their concern over the rise in the number of cybercrime, misuse of information and communications technology for criminal purposes, and the risks and threats arising from them, reiterating their commitment to creating an open, secure and stable environment for information and communications technology.
The countries of the group also emphasized the use of science-based methods to know the origin of the Corona virus and the adoption of transparency in the issuance of results.
The statement also stressed the commitment to ensuring the prevention of an arms race in outer space or its weaponization and to work towards the long-term sustainability of outer space activities, including through the adoption of a legally binding multilateral document.
