Shortly before school starts, District Administrator Christoph Göbel unfortunately cannot announce any particularly encouraging messages at the Jour Fixe in the District Office.

He sees the infection situation with concern.

Not because of the incidence, but with the hospitalization rate in mind.

District

- It sounds like a mantra from the district office.

Only with as many vaccinations as possible can worse prevent in autumn and winter.

For example through the special vaccination campaign “Back to School” on Monday, September 13th, the last day of the holiday.

District Administrator Christoph Göbel: "We hope that we will reach a large number of students."

Almost 200 air purifiers purchased for schools

As Göbel explained, from next week there will be classroom teaching regardless of the incidence.

All students must wear at least one surgical mask, also on the field.

Except in elementary school, where the cloth mask is allowed.

Ventilation remains the basis.

In addition to the 118 air purifiers that have already been purchased, 94 more will be added in autumn for the district's own secondary schools and grammar schools.

CO2 traffic lights also play a role in the classrooms so that students can concentrate on their work.

The tests are a must, but in elementary schools they will look student-friendly twice a week, according to Göbel.

In the secondary schools, the procedure is stricter, three times a week with the usual rapid tests.

Out of quarantine after five days

The most exciting thing for the district administrator is the question of the quarantine rules.

If an infection occurs in the classroom, the local health authorities decide on the measures with "a sense of proportion and expertise", whereby the rules of the RKI still apply.

There are no other requirements.

The quarantine can be lifted this school year by a free test after five days - not after ten days as before.

Health department manager Gerhard Schmid considers this regulation to be very helpful and added: "We will look even more closely at aspects such as educational equity."

Infected in daycare centers and care facilities

The schools are still closed, the infections are taking place elsewhere: According to the district office, a total of 14 people are infected in eight daycare centers.

Infected people are also reported in care facilities: eight employees and two residents.

Therefore, one is now in the process of giving booster vaccinations to protect the vulnerable population.

Almost exclusively delta mutation cases

In the past seven days, there has been an impressive number of 286 new infections.

District Administrator Göbel: "In the old teaching according to the Robert Koch Institute, this means an incidence of 81.2." The number is moving upwards, with practically all cases of mutation in the delta variant.

There are 207 Covid patients across Bavaria on the intensive care beds in the clinics, which makes up a third of the contingent before the traffic light turns red.

That would be the case with 600 patients.

A total of 308 patients with Covid are in the hospital, from 1200 patients the traffic light switches to yellow.

Nine county citizens in the hospital

Nine people from the Munich district are currently in hospital with Covid symptoms. At the moment, Göbel is also assuming that the situation will worsen in the district. Especially since the hospital quickly recognizes the need for intensive care. The vast majority are not vaccinated. If the traffic light turns red, alternating lessons at the schools are not excluded. The state government has not yet explicitly stated what exactly happens in such a case. Göbel: “I see the development with a bad gut feeling. The most important thing is and remains vaccination. "
