Prof. Galia Rahav: "Believes that children under the age of 12 will be vaccinated by the end of the year" (Walla system!)

According to data from the Ministry of Health this morning (Thursday), about 144,000 students are currently in isolation.

This fact is showing its signs on the ground - and the control center (UAV) of the Ministry of Education to which school principals are supposed to report cases of Corona is barely able to function. , It was possible to open the school year as a series.

The control center concentrates all the information about the active and isolated patients in the education system, and it is used for rapid amputation of the infection chains.

But according to the testimonies that reached Walla!

From the field, the center is run in no order, the coordination between it and the Ministry of Health is problematic and the systems are not always synchronized.

The Ministry of Health's "Voice of Health" hotline, which is used by parents to announce isolations, is also having difficulty responding.

School principals who try to catch the drone to report a Corona case are forced to wait up to 50 minutes on the line and then have a call whose purpose is an epidemiological inquiry for long hours. The Ministry of Health

also testifies in the field that sometimes the members of the control center call to inform verified students on a daily basis and even more after they have been discovered.

Beyond that, many parents do not even know that they need to report their children's isolation dates because they do not receive instructions to do so from either the Ministry of Health or the Ministry of Education.

As a result, many parents do not report their children in isolation at all, and the system on the Ministry of Health website allows parents to do so to report isolation on dates different from those reported by the school.

In the chaos that prevails between the UAV and the Ministry of Health system, it is not surprising that the Ministry of Education has stopped providing the public with information about isolated students, and it seems that the issue of isolation is conducted mainly on the basis of parental responsibility.

"Significant and negligent inefficiency"

Smadar Morse, principal of the Nofim school in south Tel Aviv, talks about long waiting times in an attempt to seize the control center. "The wait can be an hour and a half and even when they answer - the call can take three hours. The educator and teachers need to be put on the line to carry out an epidemiological investigation that is really a nerve-wracking two-and-a-half-hour investigation," she says. "I have no understanding that the Ministry of Health does not do this. Once again the responsibility rolls from headquarters to the field and of course drains to principals who have to manage both pedagogy and school education, and we also have a new role alongside that - to manage the corona."

Morse describes a "chaos" that she says is taking place in the work of the envoy.

"Sometimes the UAVs contact us very late or we do not get it. The whole issue of the limits of responsibility is blurred and unclear - which creates a lot of uncertainty and chaos, and the managers just drown in a job that should not be within their area of responsibility."

"We have neither freedom nor a break and all this is due to the negligent inefficiency of the system," Smadar Morse (Photo: Official website, courtesy of the photographer)

"We had neither a holiday nor a holiday. That's what the principals did all holiday - we waited long waits at the Corona Uprising and did an epidemiological inquiry for hours, and there was simply not a minute of rest. We have neither freedom nor pause and all this is due to a clear and negligent inefficiency of the whole system. It's inefficient, it's frustrating, the principals have become Corona officials. No procedure of neat, "she says. Another principal center of the country confirmed this and said that the dashboard goes out of order.

Even the part of parents have few difficulties. Adi Ben Omar, a mother of three from the streets and chairman of the leadership of the parents of one of the schools in the city, She recently went into isolation following exposure to a verified patient in the class of one of her children. According to her, she tried to follow all the rules of the system and reported the isolation on the website of the Ministry of Health, in accordance with the instruction she received from the school principal. It should be noted that in most cases adherence to this guideline is not observed at all, and most children who go into isolation following exposure to a verified patient do so without reporting the isolation.

"My daughter, it turns out, was exposed on Friday in class. I still haven't received anything and nothing from the Ministry of Health. On the other hand, another class of ours received a letter from the Ministry of Health after five days. The UAV is supposed to say what the isolation dates are, but it doesn't always happen.

Beyond that, parents can report whatever they want.

No one is enforcing, not cross-referencing information, nothing, "she says.

"Yesterday I only reported because the principal told me to report the isolation. Then I got a message that the report was incorrect - 'Please call the health center'. I called the center and no one answered, 50 minutes, the calls are disconnected. I tried again this morning. Nothing. I waited 40 minutes an hour "08:00 in the morning. Texting them again on WhatsApp, they refer me back to the hotline," she describes in frustration.

"Someone is supposed to perfect it and do it in an orderly fashion, neither the principals nor the parents should spend so much time on it. I'm a person with a drop of responsibility, there are parents - and I know - who say 'I do what I want because no one Told me something else. 'More than that: I got a message that my isolation ended yesterday, started yesterday and ended yesterday. Does that make sense? Something delusional is happening there, nothing messy and incomplete. To know who finished the insulation properly and who did not? ".

Ministry of Education: Preparing to recruit more staff

The Ministry of Education confirmed in response that they are dealing with a heavy load.

"The National Control Center, which monitors morbidity events throughout the education system (more than 5,200 schools and more than 21,000 kindergartens) has been experiencing an unusual load in recent days due to the rise in morbidity data," it said.

"In view of this, the UAV is preparing to recruit additional personnel to meet the load." The

Ministry of Education also stated that "notifying parents regarding the child's isolation period is the responsibility of the

Ministry of Health."
