(CNN Spanish) -

On September 13, 2021, the famous Gala of the Metropolitan Museum of New York (MET) will be held - a great party that raises funds for the MET Institute of Clothing -, the most famous and glittering international event in the world of fashion. And quite an extravagant media spectacle!

Celebrities from the "biz show" along with superstars, "royals" and famous designers from around the world, will be parading - after almost 2 years of absence due to covid-19 - down the great stairs of the museum to attend the uber famous party .

This year the celebration is in honor of the wide and varied history of North American fashion, and is divided into two parts: the gala on September 13, 2021 that opens the exhibition "In America: A Lexicon of Fashion", and another great event on May 5, 2022 in which the show "In America: An Anthology of Fashion" debuts.

Both exhibitions will be open until September 5, 2022. This year the chairs of the event are Timothée Chalamet, Billie Eilish, Naomi Osaka and Amanda Gorman.

For years I have covered this event - intimate and relatively small when it began and there were very few journalists who reviewed it - until it became an extravagant and sometimes half crazy "show", with the strangest and most striking things possible, and hundreds of reporters! and cameramen from all over the world, who shout outrageously at the top of their lungs for celebrities to stop longer on the stairs and look here and there!

Few stars are better suited to the theme of "camp" (an exaggerated and creative style) than Lady Gaga, one of the hosts of the event, who has a long history of exaggerated and theatrical attire.

Much was expected of Gaga, and she stole the show in a fuchsia Brandon Maxwell dress, with a huge train carried by a cohort of men dressed in tuxedos and umbrellas.

Lady Gaga took off Brandon Maxwell's big fuchsia dress: under it was a black dress, under it she had a pink dress and finished with black underwear.

| Co-host Serena Williams has previously wowed the Met Gala red carpet in dresses by Oscar de la Renta and Atelier Versace. This year, she opted for a stunning fluorescent Versace dress, which was lifted to reveal an equally bright pair of Nike sneakers, made in collaboration with Off-White.

Harry Styles was featured as the face of Gucci's male adaptation last year, and he continued his role as the brand's ambassador by donning a black lace suit from the label.

She paired the flamenco-inspired garment with a pearl earring.

Described as the "King of the Camp" by Met Gala Vogue organizers, the former One Direction star attended as one of the evening's hosts.

"Pose" star Billy Porter has been a red carpet darling this year, igniting the Oscars and Golden Globes with his bold fashion choices.

The Met Gala did not disappoint, arriving in a chair carried by six shirtless men.

Her ancient Egyptian-inspired outfit included a golden winged jumpsuit from The Blonds.

Liza Koshy arrived in a bold pink design with Balmain feathers.

Dapper Dan, a designer responsible for a number of other stars' Met Gala suits, arrived wearing a custom Gucci.

Jared Leto appeared carrying a replica of his head.

It was inspired by Gucci's fall-winter show in 2018.

Katy Perry wore a gigantic chandelier, designed by Jeremy Scott of Moschino.

A veritable "cricket pot" that has always made me laugh, because celebrities get yelled at and bossed around by super aggressive members of the press!

And they obey them without question!

"Beyoncé ... Beyoncé ... here ... look here ... Gaga, gagaaaaa ... Jlo, turn around ... here ... Calvin ... Calvinnn ..." And the shouts have included Prncesa Diana herself, or Rania, the Queen of Jordan, who were called to screeching without the slightest protocol, all very funny and part of the crazy and highly anticipated “arrivals” (“arrivals”), which for an hour and a half is the most interesting thing about the MET Gala.

And the amount of funny anecdotes I have witnessed could fill a book.

Like when many stars forget to remove the tags from designers lending them dresses and visibly hang them, or when a famous star had her zipper broken and her dress almost fell off her body!

And when once Donald and Ivana Trump (then a "nouveau riche" couple who wanted to be accepted by "old guard" millionaire New Yorkers) hit the stairs right after superstar Cher.

And since no one paid any attention to them, nor did they take their portraits, they went down through another door of the museum and returned to make their “entrance” for the second time to be portrayed!

So it was!

Already inside the party, only half a dozen very chosen journalists can cover the cocktail, dinner and the musical show.

And witness how celebrities themselves use their phones to take pictures, greet old friends, meet other celebrities they were looking forward to seeing for the first time, as well as showcase the clothes (specially created for them for that night by the most important creators in the world! ) and record the fabulous night!

Without another great event, the Gala of the Metropolitan Museum of New York, suspended by the covid-19

Another very funny anecdote is when Ivana Trump (the now ex 'del Donald', as she called him!) Arrived with an "exclusive" black model, with red roses, by Christian Lacroix, which cost no less than US $ 30,000, And it was found that another guest was wearing it! The solution? That the "paparazzi" portrayed them together, very smiling, hypocritically as if nothing had happened, although Ivana was furious, and with good reason!

Tickets for the MET Gala 2021 (they are very strictly "by invitation only", and not all celebrities can get the coveted invitation) cost around US $ 35,000 per person and tables of 8 people - bought by many corporations and businesses. of fashion and beauty — range from $ 200,000 to $ 300,000.

To these, companies invite models and celebrities who are their "face" and ambassadors for their brands.

So we will be up to date on September 13, and we will tell you more about the event and the celebrities we will see!
