The minister referred to the escape of the prisoners from Gilboa Prison and said: "We are after a difficult incident of escaping prisoners from Gilboa Prison. It is a failure."

During the tour, the minister met the guards and fighters of the Masada unit who confronted the rioters and visited the wing where the cells were burned.

Minister Bar-Lev referred to the escape failure that occurred earlier this week, and said there was much to learn from the case.

"We will turn every stone in order to check what caused this failure. At the local level of the prison and what are the consequences in general the prison service. We will examine, locate and observe the necessary lessons and implement them."

Regarding the riots that took place last night at Ketziot Prison by security prisoners, the Minister added, "I congratulate you, prison guards, at the Ketziot Prison for conducting and taking your cool over the riots that occurred here over the past day. On the other hand, the Palestinian media reports that the families' visits to security prisoners in Israel have been canceled.

A senior source among Palestinian security prisoners in Israeli prisons told the Hamas-affiliated Shihab agency that "if Israel continues to take repressive measures against us, the prisoners will go on a full-scale strike in the coming days."
