Occupied Jerusalem-SANA
Dozens of Palestinians participated today in a solidarity stand in the center of Yatta, south of Hebron in the West Bank, in support of prisoners in Israeli occupation detention.
According to Wafa Agency, the participants in the vigil organized by the institutions of the city of Yatta stressed the need to continue supporting the prisoners and solidarity with them in light of the violations and brutal practices they are subjected to from the occupation authorities amid a suspicious international silence.
The participants called on the international community and its institutions, particularly the International Committee of the Red Cross, to intervene urgently to protect the prisoners and put pressure on the occupation to release them.
The Israeli occupation escalated its oppressive and brutal practices against the Palestinian prisoners after six of them broke their chains three days ago and took their freedom through a tunnel dug with their own hands in Gilboa prison near the city of Bisan in the occupied Palestinian territories in 1948, which is one of the most fortified and guarded prisons.
