The Chief of Staff of the Palestine Liberation Army held a celebration today on the occasion of the fifty-seventh anniversary of its founding, during which Major General Akram Muhammad al-Salti, Commander-in-Chief of the Army, delivered a speech in which he stressed that the Palestinian people “reject all forms of submission, surrender and normalization and will remain clinging to the honorable trench of resistance that unites us with the brothers of the trench, weapons, blood and destiny, men of destiny.” The Syrian Arab Army is led by President Bashar al-Assad.
He added: "We renew our pledge and promise to remain a loyal soldier to Syria, defending its soil and preserving its dignity.
In turn, the Chief of Staff of the Palestine Liberation Army, Brigadier-General Kifah Muhammad, pointed out that the establishment of the army “was an embodiment of the will of the Arab masses and the will of our people in the resistance to liberate their land and restore their holy sites. Stressing that “strong Syria is a force for Palestine, its resistance and the Palestinian Liberation Army, and a sure guarantee of victory, liberation, return, and the establishment of an independent state on our liberated national soil, with Jerusalem as its capital.”
Brigadier General Ahmed Hujair affirmed that “the Palestine Liberation Army was established to be the Palestinian youth’s resistance to the spearhead in the face of the usurping Zionist entity, and to raise the gun as a slogan to reach the legitimate goals, break the thorn of aggression, liberate the land and restore the sanctities.”
For their part, the fighters affirmed the continuation of the struggle until achieving the “legitimate goals of liberation, return, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital,” vowing to stand “with all firmness, sincerity and loyalty to the side of Syria’s fathers, its steadfast people and its army, led by President al-Assad, until victory and liberation.”
During the celebration, a wreath was laid at the memorial to the martyrs of defending Syria, Arabism. The ceremony also included a presentation of the "Hattin" and "Ajnadayn" forces, and paragraphs embodying the skills of shooting and close combat, sports competitions, and honoring the family of the martyr Brigadier General Walid Al-Kurdi.
