Caregiving relatives in Au / Hallertau can soon get support: The market council now allows day care for seniors in the industrial area.

Au / Hallertau

- In July the building committee said no with 3: 5 votes, but now the market council Au has said yes: Jürgen Frieling, managing director of Elme Service GmbH, is allowed to rent the building at Gewerbering 1 in Seysdorf to Agnes Kapus, who wants to set up a day care for seniors there. It was decided against four votes to allow this facility for social purposes as an exception in the current development plan for the industrial park. Reason for the change of heart: Frieling and Kapus presented their project personally to the municipal council on Tuesday.

The fact that the current open-plan office at Gewerbering 1 with its 180 square meters is to be converted into a day care facility through minor renovations was viewed critically in July because it would create a precedent, although such use had been explicitly excluded in the development plan.

These concerns were also raised on Tuesday: Florian Schwaiger (CSU), for example, argued that such a facility should not be permitted in a commercial area due to the noise pollution.

Martin Linseisen (CSU) actually found such a day care “top”, but not in an industrial park.

Similar to Beatrix Sebald (FWG): “In principle” she naturally advocates day care for the elderly, but if you agree to this plan, you will set a “precedent”.

"Bring it on!"

However, Frieling was able to reassure the majority of the local councils: You only have one neighbor - and that is a "very quiet company".

Franz Asbeck (FWG) also emphasized that any noise that might arise would be the operator's problem after all, he would have “no problem” with an exemption.

And Michael Hagl (GoL) added that this day care is "also a kind of trade", so: "Bring it on!"

The fact that there was a need for this facility was out of the question not only for Hagl, Rita Straßberger (GoL; “We need something like that”) and Lucia Schmidmair-Kaindl (CSU), but also for the entire municipal council.

That is why Barbara Prügl (GoL) “couldn't quite understand why the building committee said no”.

So now the clear majority of the local council has said yes.

Seniors from a radius of 15 kilometers can be admitted

Kapus acknowledged this decision with a threefold “thank you”, as this facility is a matter close to her heart.

Because the offer corresponds to the greatest desire of seniors to be able to live in their own four walls for as long as possible.

Such a day care center, which provides care, food and employment during the day, and also relieves the relatives caring for them, is a central component.

The semi-stationary facility will accommodate twelve guests per day, and the offer also includes a transport service that brings senior citizens to Seysdorf and back home from a radius of around 15 kilometers.

The day care center will be open on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., a team of probably four people will look after the seniors “professionally and lovingly”, says Kapus.

Only bedridden seniors cannot be admitted.

Booking is possible on a daily basis.

With the building at Gewerbering 1 she found “the perfect property” - modern, spacious, bright and, after “one or two small renovations”, also barrier-free, says the trained nurse Agnes Kapus, who comes from Hungary and has lived in Germany since 2008 started his own business ten years ago and lives in Nandlstadt.
