The Ministry of Health published today (Friday) the data on the spread of the corona in Israel.
According to the data, about 7,813 new verified persons were discovered yesterday, of whom 672 were in serious condition, 173 respirators.

About 2,763,886 people were vaccinated in the third dose, about 5,531,637 people were vaccinated in the second dose and 6,031,635 were vaccinated in the first dose.

The Director General of the Ministry of Health, Prof. Nachman Ash, held a special briefing for the media yesterday (Thursday), against the background of the halting wave of coronary heart disease, while at the same time there is a fear of infections during the holidays and in the education system.

Prof. Ash said in his opening remarks: "We see a halt in the fourth wave and this can be attributed to the third vaccine which has been found to be effective, so I call on everyone to get vaccinated - this is the most effective tool in the fight against corona.
"The infection rate has been lower than 1 for two days now, but we must continue to follow the guidelines and not be complacent. The number of verified is still high."
"During the holidays and even before that we have seen loads in the testing complexes and we are working to expand the national retirement and readiness of the teams, including adding samples at all the complexes."
The Ministry of Health updated the morbidity data this morning, according to which 3,241 Israelis were diagnosed as positive from yesterday, out of about 60,000 tests performed, with a positive percentage of 5.44%.
In hospitals across the country, 1,120 corona patients are hospitalized, 673 of them in critical condition, of whom 154 are connected to respirators.

The coefficient of infection continues to decline and stands at only 0.83.
As you may recall, yesterday the Ministry of Health announced that the infection coefficient has dropped below 1 for the first time since the outbreak of the fourth wave and stands at 0.95.
The last time the R was below 1 was on June 2, so it was set at 0.89.
In addition, during the holiday there were long queues at corona testing complexes at various points around the country, and people had to wait long hours in queues.
