Seventy-two hours after informing unofficially that the results of the PASO would only be made public at 23 this Sunday, from the top of the Government they recognized that - if there were no unforeseen events - the dissemination of the first data could be known a little more early. In the last hours,

Eduardo “Wado” de Pedro

spoke with some of the

main opposition leaders

and conveyed the same idea to them, but they are trying to agree on a schedule that hints at a definitive trend.

The presidents of the PRO, the Civic Coalition and the UCR -

Patricia Bullrich, Maximiliano Ferraro and Alfredo Cornejo

- agreed that the former governor of Mendoza would communicate with the Minister of the Interior -representing- of Juntos por el Cambio to convey his concern for possible delay in uploading and transmitting telegrams.

In the early hours of the afternoon,

Cornejo expressed to the minister his concern

about possible delays in the communication of the first counts. De Pedro would have promised that the data will be published when they are available. In the opposition they fear that an initial charge is not representative of the electoral roll and will benefit the ruling party. The head of the UCR would communicate again at the last minute with the minister to convey a common position of Together for Change in this regard. In the Executive they affirm that

there is a will to reach a consensus

Close to the minister they explained that

the 23:00 hours were never made official

but a natural calculation, since in the legislative STEP of

2017

, without a pandemic in between, the

first data was only known at 22:37

. They even recalled that in the Province the results were delayed so much 4 years ago that the newspaper titles did not reflect the tiny victory, but victory at last, of Cristina Kirchner in that turn. "Hopefully at 21 and for the Covid-19 they all went to vote early", they were enthusiastic on the ground floor of La Rosada, headquarters of the Interior. The official recommendation is that voters go early to the voting centers.

In the Executive they trust that there could be an "

equitable load of data

" shortly after 9:00 p.m., at a time more similar to that of the 2019 presidential election than that of the 2017 legislative elections. In Together for Change they calculate that the elderly Delays could occur in the Buenos Aires suburbs, as is customary. They fear that the results of districts related to the ruling party will be loaded before intentionally. However, the opposition technicians themselves ruled out that manipulation was possible.

A ruling by the judge with electoral competence María Servini of 2019 obliges to communicate the data when 10% of the provisional count is loaded in Buenos Aires, City, Córdoba, Santa Fe and Mendoza, but in the Executive they explain that in that case it was of a less complex, single district vote.

The

short-circuits between the Executive and the opposition

began on Tuesday, after De Pedro signed a

Digital Ethical Commitment

with Media Secretary Francisco Meritello, the National Electoral Chamber and representatives of journalistic companies to prevent the spread of

fake news

.

In private, according to what emerged from the same Government, it was anticipated that the provisional results would

only be known after 23 o'clock

.

"Manage anxiety," was the request of the CNE authorities.

In the Casa Rosada they feared that the exceptionality of a pandemic vote would cause delays in the voting centers and pointed out that they could remain open after 6 p.m.

The qualms about possible delays included the number of lists for the three levels of government that will be in dozens of districts; in particular in Province, City, Mendoza and Santa Fe. In the opposition they believe that in the Capital and Mendoza at 9 pm

there will

already

be defined trends

.

The renewed official optimism regarding the speed of data loading resides in the best ones already implemented during the 2019 scrutiny and in the vote counting by the companies INDRA and Smartmatic.

“We added suggestions from the opposition parties and the CNE during the bidding process;

there was never one more transparent ”, they explained.

Paradoxically, they argue that the pandemic forced them to work longer in organizing the elections.

"

Except for unforeseen events, everything will be fine,

" De Pedro confided to his collaborators.

Horacio Rodríguez Larreta and Wado de Pedro in the Interior Minister's office.

In the middle, on Thursday,

as reported by Clarín

, the representatives of the PRO and Juntos por el Cambio en la Ciudad,

Santiago Alberdi and Nicolás Mazzei

, made a presentation before the electoral judge

María Romilda Servini

to intimidate the national director electoral

Diana Quiodo

"to present the first news, dissemination and information at the time that has been established as such in the last elections", starting at 9 pm.

During the meeting held via zoom by the representatives of all the parties with the

National Electoral Chamber

, the representatives of the main opposition force consulted if the Extraordinary Agreement 3, of January 2017, was still in force, whose article 6.1 establishes that the results should be public at 21.

However, the president of the CNE

Santiago Corcuera

pointed out that there could be

some delay

, since there will be

20 percent more voting tables

. However, he emphasized that the results

would be ready before 23

. In effect, to avoid possible infections, the Government added 3,068 voting centers compared to 2019; there will be 17,567 throughout the country; more than 101 thousand tables. Following JxC's complaint, Servini ordered the implementation of judicial overseers and the CNE accused her of interfering in its jurisdiction.

After talking with the opposition,

De Pedro

was confident that there was no intention of the political leaders in the viral videos that circulated on the networks and assured that the sealed envelopes would not be taken into account. "All votes closed in any way they are will be valid," they assured. The minister
