The vaccination against the coronavirus is now also available for schoolchildren from the age of twelve.

Young people in Nuremberg can get vaccinated here.

Nuremberg - Only every or every third young person in Germany has so far received the first vaccination against the coronavirus * (as of September 6, 2021).

Only a quarter of the twelve to 17 year olds have full vaccination protection.

This is not due to a lack of vaccine, as the city of Nuremberg * writes in a press release.

Sufficient vaccine is now available to vaccinate schoolchildren from the age of twelve and their families.

The city points out many possibilities in Nuremberg.

(By the way: Our Nuremberg newsletter informs you about all developments and results from the Franconian metropolis around the upcoming federal election - and of course about all other important stories from Nuremberg.)

Nuremberg: is vaccination safe for young people?

A nationwide vaccination offer for adolescents from the age of twelve has been available since August 2nd. On August 16, the Standing Vaccination Commission (STIKO) also issued a recommendation for 12 to 17 year olds to be vaccinated. On the basis of new data, in particular from the American vaccination program with nearly ten million vaccinated children and adolescents, possible risks of vaccination for this age group could now be assessed more reliably, the panel said in a statement.

Schoolchildren from the age of twelve can be vaccinated if they are accompanied by a legal guardian; from the age of 16, an information sheet from the Robert Koch Institute signed by the legal guardian, which can be downloaded from the website of the City of Nuremberg, is sufficient.

In addition, you are asked to bring an identity card or passport and the vaccination certificate (if available).

It is not necessary to make an appointment.

Parents and legal guardians must agree with the school management about an exemption during school time.

Young people from the age of twelve are vaccinated with the Biontech * vaccine, which requires a second vaccination.

This can be done after two weeks at the earliest, also at other vaccination sites.

The vaccination is free of charge.
