- "Sustainability - that is our topic!" This is where district home nurse Thomas Warg really goes into raptures. And where can the topic of sustainability be better presented than in the Ebersberger Forest? For the Open Monument Day on Sunday, September 12th, Warg and his team, the Bavarian State Forests and the city of Ebersberg have come together to create a completely different kind of memorial day. This time, old walls will not be opened, but nature, history and cultural history will be experienced first hand in the middle of the forest.

“The Ebersberger Forest has three functions: commercial forest, natural forest and recreational forest.

And on this day we put the third function in the foreground, ”says Sebastian Klinghardt, deputy forest manager, at the joint press conference of the organizers.

“Finally the forest is more than just a backdrop for walkers.

At last, the visitors experience things here that they would otherwise pass by carelessly and learn stories and history, hidden myths and secrets, ”says the man from the forest happily.
