The hassle around the 365-euro ticket for the MVV does not stop.

The FDP and the Bavarian Party in the city council are now complaining about a "justice gap" in the cheap ticket for schoolchildren and trainees.

According to the FDP and the Bavarian Party, the 365-euro ticket for schoolchildren and trainees has created a justice gap in the Munich city council.

Because school children who live less than three kilometers from their school are not entitled to the one-euro ticket.

The city council group wants to change that with a motion.

As the Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft (MVG) explains on request, primary school students who live more than two kilometers from the nearest school, as well as pupils who live more than three kilometers from the nearest secondary school, get their tickets reimbursed through the payor from the city. The cost bearers in turn receive their expenses reimbursed by the Free State of Bavaria.

According to the city council, students who live closer to their schools get nothing and would have to pay for all tickets themselves in their free time.

Because the new 365-euro ticket is not only valid for the way to school, as it used to be, but can also be used in leisure time.

“There should be equal treatment, both for the way to school and for trips in leisure time.

That is why the free ticket should be valid regardless of the distance to the school ”, demand the city councilors Jörg Hoffmann, Gabriele Neff, Fritz Roth and Richard Progl in an application.

As reported, the Left Party and other initiators launched a referendum on Monday for a city-wide 365 euro ticket.

That would then benefit all Munich residents.
