An earthquake of magnitude 5.2 on the Richter scale was felt in Guadeloupe on Thursday evening at 8:43 p.m. (00:43 GMT), AFP noted.

The shock, rather brief, was strongly felt in several municipalities, located in Grande and Basse-Terre, according to testimonies collected by AFP.
However, no damage or casualties were immediately reported.
The epicenter was located, according to the European Seismology Center, 55 kilometers north northeast of Moule, a town in eastern Guadeloupe, and 49 kilometers deep.
