Holzkirchen community workers are now helping in a special way.

The market town has entered into a cooperation with the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) at the marketplace for good business.

The clothing donation from Holzkirchen was recently officially handed over to the BRK.

Mayor Christoph Schmid was able to hand over two cubic meters of clothing to managing director Robert Kießling and trainee Franziska Schiller.

The aim of the event is to bring companies and non-profit organizations together in a kind of speed dating and to exchange services. Everything is allowed except money. The event took place for the third time in March 2021 - unlike in previous years, however, it was purely virtual. As part of the event, a deal was negotiated that the community employees would donate well-preserved clothing to the BRK for sale in the BRK branches and that in return they would receive either a tailor-made first aid course or food delivery by the BRK.

“The community employees have been busy sorting out their clothes and shoes - sometimes even twice,” says Mayor Christoph Schmid enthusiastically.

“With just under two cubic meters, a lot has come together.

I am pleased that so many took part in the campaign and that we can support the BRK with a great project. "

There are a total of four BRK clothing stores in the region - in Holzkirchen, Miesbach, Hausham and Bad Wiessee.

Before the goods go into the shops, every item of clothing is hand-checked by the volunteers.

"Many thanks to all employees of Markt Holzkirchen for the generous donation," says BRK managing director Robert Kießling.

Those who pass on clothing make others happy and conserve resources and the environment.
