In public parking spaces in the Tseung Kwan O Industrial Zone, a note was placed on the body of a vehicle earlier, listing the phone number and asking the driver to call.
The other party then asked the driver to pay a fee for the meter.
The police classified the case as blackmail and today (9th) arrested five local men aged between 17 and 23 with triad background.
The Tseung Kwan O Police District received a report from the public at about 3 pm on September 7 that a driver found a note on the body after parking a vehicle in a public parking space in the Tseung Kwan O Industrial Area.
A phone number is listed on the note, and the driver is required to call that number as instructed.
After the driver answered the phone, he was asked to pay a fee for the meter.
The case was classified as blackmail and was handed over to the Tseung Kwan O Police District Anti-Triad Action Team for follow-up.

They were suspected of placing the note in question on a vehicle parked in a public parking space in the Tseung Kwan O Industrial Zone on September 5.
After the driver called the phone number on the note as instructed, he was suspected of being blackmailed by the arrested person and demanded to be charged for meter replacement.
All arrested persons are now being detained for investigation.
The case is still under investigation, and it is not ruled out that more people have been arrested.
