Saxony-Anhalt will in future be governed by a coalition of CDU, SPD and FDP.
The FDP agreed to the alliance on Friday at a party conference in Magdeburg as the last of the three parties.
The coalition agreement can now be signed on Monday.
Three days later, the new coalition could re-elect Reiner Haseloff (CDU) as prime minister in the state parliament.
It would be the first joint state government of the CDU, SPD and FDP for 62 years.
The election victory for Haseloff's CDU in the state elections in June was clear, but it would have only just been enough for a two-party alliance.
At the beginning of August, the leaders of the three parties agreed on a draft coalition agreement.
