A policeman was injured today (Friday) during an attempt to carry out a stabbing attack in the Old City of Jerusalem.

This, in the shadow of the tension in the capital following the escape of the six terrorists from Gilboa Prison earlier this week.

The incident took place around 16:30, when a terrorist who was staying near one of the gates of the Temple Mount compound tried to attack with a knife several policemen who were at the scene.

The police opened fire, neutralized the terrorist and arrested him.

According to police, during the neutralization operations, one of the officers was lightly injured from a firing squad.
