Neighbors from the town of Villa Celina, in the La Matanza district, caught a thief who had stolen a woman's cell phone,
stripped him, beat him and handed him over to the police
.
The fact was known from the viralization of a video recorded by one of the witnesses.
The violent scene began when a criminal stole a young woman's cell phone at the intersection of Olavarría and Los Cedros streets.
The victim began to
scream and ask for help
, so neighbors who were in the place caught and attacked the thief, who was later identified as
Ángel Nicolás Fleitas (19).
It was at that moment when they undressed the criminal and one of the neighbors began to record the situation with his cell phone.
According to the video, while one of the neighbors tried to tie his hands, a woman who identifies herself as a policeman appeared.
"That is not done!", The officer told the neighbors.
"
That is not done, there are minors,
" he stressed.
The policewoman prevented the suspect from being beaten and put him under cover until troops from the 7th Police Station of Villa Celina arrived.
Fleitas was transferred to that station, and the cell phone was hijacked.
In the case, the prosecutor Gabriela Soggio, from the Functional Unit of Instruction No. 6 of La Matanza, intervened,
who classified the case as simple robbery
, a crime that can be released.
In Villa Celina, neighbors caught and undressed a cell phone thief.
Another similar reaction in the area
In February of this year, a similar situation also occurred in Villa Celina, when three criminals who had stolen a woman's backpack were caught by neighbors, who, tired of the insecurity,
stripped them naked and threw them out of the neighborhood
.
Once the crime was committed, at the corner of Ugarte and Giribone streets, the victim activated a neighborhood alarm that is heard throughout the 27 blocks of the entire area.
It was there that a group of neighbors managed to capture the young people (witnesses say they were between 13 and 16 years old) to take off their clothes and
return the assaulted woman's belongings
.
The robbers ran through the streets naked, followed by enraged neighbors.
When they came across a police cell phone,
they asked the troops to take them
.
Neighbors say that the entire area is impassable due to the amount of robberies.
"It is not possible to go out in the morning, in the afternoon, at night. We need more security, more patrol cars. We cannot go out," a woman told the TN channel at that time.
Regarding the attitude of taking the robbers' clothes, the man said that it was like a lesson: "
We did it so that they would be ashamed, so that they would not want to come here anymore
."
