A water ingress has occurred in the Amper power plant in Olching.
The fire brigade had to intervene.
Olching - The Olching fire brigade was informed by the employees of the hydropower plant on Hauptstrasse about a massive water ingress into the power plant.
As a result, a small team set out to explore.
With the knowledge that the Amper Canal has been drained for maintenance and repair work since Sunday and that there is only a small amount of water in the canal, the message sounded strange, as a spokesman for the fire brigade describes.
On site it turned out that the information was absolutely correct.
A massive water ingress could be detected on the so-called "rake" which is located in front of the inlet of the turbines.
Since this makes the necessary work not only very dangerous, but almost impossible and would also have meant an extension of the planned working time, it was decided, for the benefit of the workers and the heavily used flora and fauna of the entire canal, to build a wall of sandbags and so that Keep water away.
A total of 250 sandbags were brought from the emergency camp in the Fürstenfeldbruck district to the site and installed at the power plant with a larger number of workers after the alarm.
After about three hours, the mission could then be ended.
