A young Wisconsin woman who admitted to helping to stab a classmate to please the horror character Slender Man will be released Monday from a mental health facility under strict conditions, a judge ruled Friday.

Anissa Weier, 19, will be released after spending nearly four years at the Winnebago Mental Health Institute in Oshkosh after a 2017 jury found that she was not criminally responsible because she suffered from mental illness.

The parole plan calls for her to live with her father,

to undergo 24-hour GPS surveillance, and to receive psychiatric treatment, among other things

.

You will not be allowed to use the Internet other than at home, and the state Department of Corrections will monitor your online activity.

Weier and her friend, Morgan Geyser, were admitted to Winnebago

after pleading guilty to attacking Payton Leutner when they were all 12 years old.

Geyser stabbed Leutner several times while Weier instigated her.

Leutner suffered 19 stab wounds, including one that nearly reached the heart.

Waukesha County Judge Michael Bohren said the conditions for Weier's release were fair and the plan "provides for the protection of the community" as well as Leutner and Weier herself.

"Mrs. Weier, good luck to you

," Bohren told her.

Weier, dressed in a dark suit and smiling occasionally, said nothing during the 20-minute procedure.

The judge delayed his release until Monday after his attorney, Maura McMahon, said the mental health center could better process his release after the weekend.

"He's looking forward to a productive life

," McMahon told the judge.

Leutner's family declined to speak during the hearing.

As part of the conditions of Weier's release, a case manager will monitor her medication for post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and a personality disorder.

Your mobile phone will not be able to access the Internet and you will not be able to access social networks either.

You may not consume alcohol or drugs, enter a bar, possess a weapon, or have any contact with Leutner or his family.

Assistant District Attorney Ted Szczupakiewicz said he had no objections to the conditions of release.

The attack occurred in May 2014, after Weier and Geyser invited Leutner to a sleepover.

The next day Leutner was taken to the woods in a Waukesha park.

Weier and Geyser left Leutner for dead, but she managed to crawl out of the woods and a passing cyclist found her.

Police found Weier and Geyser later that day walking down Interstate 94 in Waukesha.

Investigators were told that they attacked Leutner because they thought that would become the Slender Man's servants and prevent the Slender Man from killing their families.

After the stabbing, they began walking toward the character's mansion, they said.

Slender Man emerged from the stories of the Internet.

He is depicted as an arachnid figure in a black suit and an empty white face.

Sony Pictures released a film about the Slender Man stalking three girls in 2018. Weier's father, Bill, criticized the film as an attempt to capitalize on a tragedy.

Weier ultimately pleaded guilty to attempted second degree murder.

Borhen sentenced her to 25 years in Winnebago in December 2017.

In his request for parole, he argued that he had exhausted all of his treatment options at the center and that he needed to re-enter society.

He vowed that he would not let himself "become a weapon again."

Bohren ruled in July that Weier no longer posed a threat and ordered state officials to draw up a release plan.

Geyser pleaded guilty to attempted first degree murder.

Bohren sentenced her to 40 years in a mental health facility in February 2018. She has argued that her case should have been heard in juvenile court, but an appeals court ruled last year that the case was correctly heard in the adult court.

His trial attorney, Anthony Cotton, said Friday that Geyser has not filed a release petition and declined to comment further.

Court records show that during his sentencing, Bohren ruled that probation "would pose a significant risk of bodily injury" to Geyser or others.
