Gaißach - 65 participants celebrate the winners Thea Heim and Daniel Götz at the 42nd Gaißacher Berglauf.

Gaißach - 65 participants celebrate the winners Thea Heim and Daniel Götz at the 42nd Gaißacher Berglauf.

“I think it's absolutely great that SC Gaißach pulled it off,” said Alfred Barth.

But the first chairman of the “Raiffeisen Oberland Challenge” (ROC) adds: “Even if it will definitely be a loss.” Only 65 participants had conquered the Lehener Berg in the 42nd Gaißacher Berglauf.

"A number that we can live with quite well," confirmed Heide Danner, Erste SC chairwoman and Hans Ski department head Schwaiger.

Since all the ROC long-term registrants were missing, they even feared a major break-in.

Breathless on the mountain

“At the beginning I still heard breathing noises behind me.

But then they got quieter and quieter ”, reports Daniel Götz (SV Bergdorf-Höhn), who set the fastest time of the day in 20:40 minutes.

As it turned out later, it was Toni Lautenbacher from Beurer who initially clung to Götz's heels.

“Actually, I wanted to run faster this time,” admitted the winner from Bad Tölz, “but I lacked the right punch in the last third of the route”.

Perhaps it was due to the lack of competition, so that Götz achieved a relatively lonely start / finish victory.

In the end, Götz had a lead of around one and a half minutes over the second-placed Waakirchner Maxi Tent (SLV Tegernsee) when he crossed the finish line at the Schwaiger-Alm in 20: 40.29 minutes.

Toni Lautenbacher from Benediktbeur landed third after 22:35 minutes.

Overall, the 33-year-old winner was delighted "that with the Tent brothers, something good is finally coming back to the regional running scene."

The women’s winner from Saxony (24:49 minutes) TheaHeim (LG Telisfinanz Regensburg) complained about a relatively small number of runs this year: “First most of it was canceled because of Corona, then later because of the weather.” The latter also fell victim to the Blomberglauf , "For which I had registered."

At the Schwaiger-Alm the winner ran out a lead of almost two and a half minutes over the runner-up Susanne Bielmeier (27.07 min./LC Tölzer Land), née Feigl.

Julia Rath (Team Jukarama Penzberg) took third place in the women in 27:14 minutes.

Of course, Heim's time was still far from the track record of 24:04 minutes, which Heidi Danner has held since 1992.

Applause for the oldest participants

Ultimately, everyone was happy who had mastered the 4.5 kilometer long route with a difference in altitude of 480 meters in bright sunshine.

Even those who had reached the goal at the Schwaiger-Alm at the end of their strength were fired by the strong applause with which everyone was greeted upstairs.

So also Marianne Kirchmayer (LG Sempt) and Otmar Nejtek (SC Moosham), built in 1942, the two oldest participants in this year's Gaißacher Berglauf.

Chamois and buck for the best "Goaßara"

One of the special features of this event is that the “best Goassara” are also honored with a challenge cup.

Above all, Regina Rauchberger (formerly Danner) beamed because she was able to receive the hand-carved chamois for the seventh time: “We don't want to talk about my time.

I'm glad I got up at all. "

As the mother of three children, “I hardly have any time to train properly.

So this year I only ran up here for the fourth time. ”Of course, Toni Seewald was also very happy, who was the fastest Goassara to receive the wooden ibex for the first time.

The twelfth place overall had needed a time of 24:22 minutes.

Arzbacher Tom Scheifl (LC Tölzer Land) was extremely satisfied and beamed: “Up here in under 24 minutes, that's great for me.

It probably paid off that I was only out in the mountains this year.

Among the top three

Beurer Toni Lautenbacher had only tried to keep up with Götz for two minutes: "Then I was excited that it didn't make any sense to me." Finished in the top three with just a few training sessions, that fits. "

All in all, the most important thing for the former member of the German national ski mountaineering team was “everyone has finally come together here again.

How many friends and acquaintances I met here is really bearish, ”said Lautenbacher.

He too really missed competitions and socializing, especially in Corona times.
