This evening, the Vanguards of the Baath Organization organized a concert by the National Orchestra on the occasion of the opening of the new school year at Al-Azem Palace in Damascus.

Wadah Sawas, head of the theater, music and external relations office in the organization, explained that the concert comes within a series of concerts organized by the National Orchestra on multiple theaters at the beginning of the school year in a message to the local community to preserve folklore and heritage, pointing out that children came from different governorates to sing for heritage.

Suleiman Harfouch, the conductor of the National Orchestra, said that the orchestra’s children numbered 300, including a musician and musician, and they were chosen from all the Syrian governorates to present the concert at Qasr al-Azm theater, which forced us to offer what is up to this archaeological and historical place.

In turn, Sherine El-Shelly, the mother of one of the children participating in the orchestra, said that the concert is very important in supporting the new generation's adherence to heritage and preserving their culture. We need to link the new generation to this heritage. I am proud of my son's presence and participation in the choir, especially his performance of Sabah Fakhri's songs.

The teacher, Samar Abbas, director of the elementary department at the “Like” Institute, indicated that the institute participates in this ceremony because of its great importance and its contribution to reviving the authentic heritage for students, especially at these young ages, with the wave of descending songs that this generation is exposed to.

It is noteworthy that the National Orchestra was established in 2020 and is composed of 300 children, including musicians, instrumentalists and assistant professors on some instruments.

The ceremony was attended by the head of the Vanguards of the Baath Organization, Dr. Muhammad Ezzat Arabi Katbi.
