The adult education center has presented its new program for the coming semester.
In addition to bestsellers, there are also some new courses.
Starnberg / Pöcking / Feldafing / Berg / Tutzing - From “Bavarian for Zuagroaste” to “Android smartphone for beginners” to “The Korean kitchen” - the autumn / winter program of the Starnberger See adult education center (VHS) is a colorful mixture of tried and tested and new.
VHS director Christine Loibl is particularly pleased that the majority of the courses are planned as face-to-face events.
"We hope that this semester is more possible," she said at a press conference yesterday.
"Most courses can, if necessary, be switched to online or take place as a hybrid seminar."
The new program booklet has 152 pages and the adult education center is offering 480 courses in six areas for the coming six months.
Start is September 27th.
“This semester we took part in the '1700 Years of Jewish Life in Germany' campaign,” said Loibl.
The VHS offers exhibitions by Jewish artists, Hebrew and Yiddish courses, online seminars on the subject of Jewish life in the Middle Ages or Shabbat Shalom.
"We want to illustrate Jewish life in Germany and at the same time set an example against anti-Semitism," said the head of the adult education center.
Adult Education Center offers a very special Italian course
The largest area of the adult education center, languages and integration, is again offering a number of courses in English, French, Italian and Spanish this semester. "One course teaches Italian through restaurant terms," said Program Area Manager Gudula Bieber-Reynartz. The adult education center also offers less popular languages such as Arabic or Croatian, but only online. "We are working with the VHS Herrsching and Würmtal so that the course can come about," said Bieber-Reynartz. German courses are no longer as much in demand as they were five years ago, but they are still part of the VHS program.
Like every year, the adult education center offers hits such as “Schafkopf für Beginners” or “Intensive 10-Finger Writing System”, but also new courses such as “Coping successfully with grief” or “Japanese for children” are part of the new program.
Particularly popular since the pandemic: painting and goldsmithing courses.
“Seminars with creativity were and still are booked out very quickly,” said Loibl.
