The slow decline in the number of Covid-19 patients hospitalized and those in critical care continued this Saturday, according to figures published by Public Health France.

10,018 Covid-19 patients are currently hospitalized, including 322 new hospitalizations in 24 hours, against 10,155 Friday and 10,654 a week ago.

The critical care services that receive the most serious cases have 2,131 Covid patients, including 91 new admissions in 24 hours, against 2,151 Friday and 2,223 last Saturday.

The seven-day data, which smooths out daily variations, is also down to 3,558 hospitalizations, including 958 in critical care, down from 4,320 and 1,035 respectively a week ago.

Contamination side, for the second consecutive day, less than 10,000 new cases were recorded in 24 hours, with 9,601, against 9,966 cases on Friday and 13,336 last Saturday.

The positivity rate, which measures the proportion of positive cases out of the number of people tested, is down to 2.2%.

49.6 million first-time vaccinated

The Covid-19 has killed 47 people in hospital over the past 24 hours, bringing the total toll to 115,488 since the start of the epidemic.

On the vaccination front, 49,620,948 people have received at least one injection (i.e. 73.6% of the total population) and 46,630,044 people now have a complete vaccination schedule (i.e. 69.2% of the total population) , according to the DGS.
