Around 6 a.m., a family of four from the Landsberg am Lech district were on their way home from their vacation. The 39-year-old mother and driver of a Nissan SUV was driving on the B2 between Kaltenbrunn and Garmisch-Partenkirchen when the accident occurred. For reasons unknown so far, she came off the right of the road and collided with a tree, the police wrote in their press release.
All four family members were seriously injured in the accident. They were immediately taken to nearby hospitals by ambulance. However, any help came too late for the four-year-old daughter. She died of serious injuries in the clinic. Nothing has been disclosed about how the rest of the family members are doing in the meantime. The cause of the accident is currently being investigated more closely, says a police spokeswoman. The B2 was at least partially blocked for accident recording for several hours.
