The Spanish driver Carlos Sainz suffered an accident with his Ferrari today in the free practice of the Italian Formula One Grand Prix to be held at the Monza circuit,
without damage for the pilot but with a lot of work for the team's mechanics
due to that the car was in very bad condition.
Sainz lost control of his car at very high speed
, in the Ascari variant, and collided head-on with the protections, causing significant damage to the front axle and also destroying the suspension system.
Due to the nature of the crash and the forces to which the pilot was subjected, now
Sainz will have to
undergo
a medical check-up on the circuit
to be declared fit to compete, however when the Madrilenian arrived at the garage, he greeted the fans with a thumbs up. above, to confirm that he was okay, before discussing the incident with the team's engineers.

Sainz's car was quickly removed from the track and mechanics were able to begin repairing it so that it is ready to return to testing.
The Spanish driver does not usually suffer accidents and less in free practice, although

In the first session and in qualifying on Friday,
Mercedes relegated Red Bull

Bottas and Hamilton will start from the front row in the sprint race
(Saturday 11.30am in Argentina) that will serve to define the Grand Prix starting grid, ahead of Verstappen and Lando Norris (McLaren).
Pérez, who was the 4th fastest time in free practice, will start from the fifth row of the grid, having only recorded the 9th fastest time in the qualifying session.
Formula 1 is testing this new qualifying sprint race format, as it did at Silverstone in July.
This race lasts just 30 minutes.
