What do you do when the towels come out too hard?

(tiktoklauradebarra)

There is nothing like a dry, soft towel that wraps around us when we get out of the shower, but there are many people who wash their towels incorrectly and make them dry and unpleasant to the skin.

If your towels also lack the freshness they once had, a cleaning expert shared a tip just for you that reveals how you can return the towels to their "freshness" and softness.

It turns out that it all depends on the way you wash the towels - and sorry to tell you, but you probably washed them incorrectly all your life.

At least that's what Laura de Bara, who uploaded a demo video for Tiktok, claims.

The Irish author, who shares with the surfers tips on household operations that she also wrote about in her book Gaff Goddess, says in the video: "If you find that your towels become too hard after washing, it's because of a buildup of fiber in the fibers. "The laundry and there is not enough moisture, it may be because the drum of the machine is too full or you use too much detergent. It is going to accumulate inside the fibers of the towel so that eventually the towel will not absorb things properly, will not dry properly and will be too hard to touch."

So how do you make a towel soft again?

Laura explained: "In order for the towels to come out soft, you need to wash them without any fabric softener at all. Throw the towels into the machine and instead of fabric softener, put two cups of vinegar. The vinegar is non-toxic and more effective at cleaning towels. It also raises unwanted odors Overall".

She added that "the towels need to be washed at a not too hot temperature that could make them hard, maybe around 60 degrees. If the towels are still stiff, you probably need extra washing with a glass of baking soda in the dedicated softener drawer."

Laura also recommends "shaking vigorously" your towels when you put them to dry, as this helps "open up the fibers".

Laura's followers were enthusiastic about the video and promised to try her method.

"I liked this tip. I use vinegar and baking soda to clean the machine, so I look forward to using them for washing the towels as well," one respondent wrote.

"How did Tiktok know I needed that tip?", Wrote another respondent.
